Light can be used as a symbol that represents hope and peace, which are beneficial when grieving the loss of a loved one. Northwoods Hospice’s Luminary Service will provide the community with the opportunity to celebrate the memory of their loved ones.
The Luminary Service will take place on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Memorial Park on Bridge Street in Colebrook. The service will begin at 6:00pm and conclude at 7:30pm. There will be a time of refreshments after the service until 9:00pm at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 26 Bridge Street, Colebrook. This event is free of charge, non-denominational and is open to all community members - not just those families that have been involved in Hospice care. The community is invited to gather to honor and remember those family members and friends that have died.
The service will begin with people gathering in Memorial Park and as dusk approaches, everyone will light their luminary candle. There will then be a time of reflection along with the names of their loved ones read aloud.
If you would like to honor a loved one that has passed, please call us and share their name(s) with us so that we can include their name in our service. To share names and / or find out more about our Luminary Service, please contact Northwoods Home Health & Hospice Patient Care Coordinator, Cherish Brachtel, MSW, at 800-750-2366.
