Primary Care Providers
Primary Care providers (PCP’s), which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, are an integral part of Weeks Medical Center’s approach to overall healthcare for residents and visitors to the North Country. Weeks Primary Care Providers work at three convenient locations, including Lancaster, Whitefield and Groveton.
To treat just about any circumstance, Weeks works with several types of PCP’s:
- General Internists specialize in internal medicine and generally provide services to adult patients.
- Family Practitioners, as the name implies, are qualified to care for the whole family.
- Pediatric Practitioners specialize in child care, usually up to age 21.
- Gynecologists specialize in women’s reproductive and maternal health.
- PCP’s provide comprehensive coordinated care to their patients. When necessary, they will refer to specialists both at Weeks and other facilities.
Specialists at Weeks
Weeks has long recognized the importance of its patient community and primary care physicians having easy access to a wide spectrum of specialty care physicians. With approximately 15 part-time and full-time specialists, in fields such as oncology, urology and cardiology, practicing at Weeks, patients don’t need to travel long distances for specialized care and treatment.
