Hospice Support

Northwoods StaffThe purpose of Hospice at Weeks Medical Center is to affirm life and dignity during the last days, weeks and months of life. This service focuses on providing medical care, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support tailored to the patient’s needs and wishes. Support is provided to the patient’s loved ones as well.

Hospice involves a team-oriented approach to design comprehensive care plans, involving the patient and family, physicians, nurses, physical, occupational and speech therapists, social and pastoral counsellors, aides, and volunteers. Hospice takes place in your own home or a home-like setting such as a nursing home.

Hospice is paid for through the Medicare Hospice Benefit and most private insurers. If your plan does not include Hospice coverage, we will work with you and your family to ensure that needed services can be provided.
