Northwoods Home Health & Hospice is pleased to begin offering a grief support group, Living with Loss, which is open to everyone. As a continued commitment to bereavement services for both family members of hospice patients and for the community at large, Living with Loss will provide a safe and supportive environment for people to explore and express their feelings and emotions related to their grief and loss.  “We invite all community members to come, share and receive support from others who are experiencing or have experienced similar challenges associated with grief and loss,” offers Cherish Brachtel, MSW, Patient Care Coordinator.

One of the greatest losses that can occur is the death of someone you love. Other losses include the loss of your health or the health of someone you care about; the end of an important relationship, such as a marriage; the loss of a job or a much-loved pet. Grief is a normal, healthy response. Healing from a loss involves coming to terms with the loss and its meaning in your life. Living with Loss meetings will consist of helpful information regarding the grief process as well as providing a time for discussion and sharing.

Northwoods Home Health & Hospice also offers a monthly Grief Support Group in Lancaster facilitated by Mary Bates MS, CT, Patient Care Coordinator. “It’s a place where you’ll find caring people who understand the issues you face,” explains Mary.

These support groups do not require a registration or RSVP. They are free and open to the public no matter how recent or long ago the loss. For more information, please contact Northwoods Home Health & Hospice, at 1-800-750-2366.
