Weeks Medical Center Scholarship Awards Announced

Weeks Medical Center held its annual Scholarship Awards Ceremony on Thursday, June 11th at the Weeks Hospital Get Away Café. Five scholarships were highlighted, benefiting eight recipients including area high school students and Weeks Medical Center employees.
The purpose of the Weeks Medical Center Scholarship Program is to provide financial support to graduating seniors or employees of Weeks Medical Center interested in pursuing a health career or advancing their professional training. According to CEO Scott Howe, “The scholarships are from two sources. The memorial scholarship awards are from interest earned on funds donated to Weeks Medical Center for a specific scholarship. The Educational Assistance Program is funded by Weeks Medical Center to encourage staff to pursue additional training and/or certifications in the medical/nursing field.”
2009 Weeks Medical Center Scholarships were presented to the following:
- Ferguson Scholarship - two, $500 awards: One to Groveton High School senior, Alicia Pinette, the second to White Mountain Regional High School graduate, Katelynne Fitch; Patricia M.
- Gregory Scholarship, a $300 award to Alicia Pinette, Groveton High School;
- Hunter/Chamberlin Scholarship, $250 presented to Jason Beaulieu, LPN;
- Christy St. Onge Memorial Scholarship, a $500 award to Tammy Lazott, RNCEN.
Staff benefiting from the Weeks Medical Center Education Assistance Program include;

- Mike Russell,
- Paramedic/ Emergency Department;

Weeks Medical Center is a Critical Access Hospital located in Lancaster, NH providing acute inpatient and emergency medical care, outpatient and rehabilitation services. Primary care services are delivered at three physicians’ offices based in Lancaster, Whitefield and Groveton. Weeks also offers home health and hospice care services.
